Table discussions

The refreshed Compact was launched in December 2009 following extensive debate and consultation. The commitments and principles it sets out describe what we mean by a Compact way of working, and provide a framework for better and more effective partnerships. Now, our challenge is to make sure that this way of working is embedded into the day-to-day practices of both the public and third sector.
Implementing and embedding the refreshed Compact
- What needs to be done to ensure the public and third sector implement the commitments and principles of the refreshed Compact?
- How can we encourage better sharing of information about Compact working between the public sector and the third sector?
- How can we encourage shared responsibility and leadership for embedding Compact commitments and principles?
- What will success look like?
Accountability for the refreshed Compact
- How should Compact performance be monitored and evaluated?
- How should the public sector be held to account?
- How should the third sector be held to account?
Fulfilling the full potential of the Compact
- How can we ensure that the Compact is used at the outset of relationships and not just a way to manage the end of funding relationships?
- How can we get beyond the Compact as a set of rules to it underpinning positive working?
- What particular problems are there for the Compact in a challenging economic climate?
