Helping councils to provide a fair system of care for the most vulnerable older people in the country; combating the growing problem of crime, the fear of crime and the perception ofcrime with young people; providing the right types of homes in the right areas for people in the 21st century; putting councils at the forefront of helping improve the environment and tackling climate change - these are just some of the big issues facing local authorities in the coming twelve months. And they all have one thing in common - that local councils hold the answers and can deliver the solutions to improving the lives of local people.

Over 1,500 delegates will have the option to hear from key speakers in a variety of plenary, breakout and fringe events. There is also a large exhibition of over 100 stands, which sees important players in the local government community brought together under one roof.
