Compact Voice
Compact Voice is an independent body representing the voluntary and community sector on taking forward the Compact.
It is chaired by Simon Blake (Chief Executive of Brook) and it is made up of an autonomous alliance of leading voluntary sector infrastructure organisations with national, regional and local reach, and who together play a representational role in engaging with Government and the Commissioner for the Compact on Compact issues.
Compact Voice supports two networks:
- Local Compact Voice is a network of almost 500 voluntary sector representatives from local authority areas across England. It arranges representation, provides briefing to support Local Compact implementation, facilitates sharing of information and advice between members and enables them to develop Compact policy and practice.
Friends of Local Compact Voice is an on-line forum open to local public bodies at http://friendslcv.ning.com/. To join contact paul.barasi@ncvo-vol.org.uk. - The National Compact Voice Network is a new initiative launched in Compact Week 2007 to strengthen the national voluntary and community sector on the national Compact.
Compact Voice is running the Sector Independence campaign “It’s Our Shout” until Christmas 2008. Download the Independence Day National Pack and Independence Day Local Pack.
Compact Voice is based at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in London.
