Joint Compact Action Plan 08-09

The Joint Compact Action Plan for 2008/09 was accepted at the eighth Annual Compact Meeting on 17 December 2007.

This Plan sets out a programme of work for 2008/09 designed to:

  • Strengthen relationships and partnerships at national level, to deliver the national Compact.
  • Strengthen relationships and partnerships at local level, supported by Local and Regional Compacts and Compact Action Plans.
  • Increase understanding of the role of the Compact in promoting equality and community cohesion.
  • Strengthen the independence, voice and campaigning work of the third sector.
  • Ensure the continued relevance of the Compact in a changing legislative and policy environment.

Following the meeting, the Commission for the Compact, Compact Voice and the Office of the Third Sector worked with the Local Government Association (LGA), Communities and Local Government (CLG) and other stakeholders to produce a more detailed implementation plan. This implementation plan includes specific tasks, indicators and measures.
