Sir Bert Massie CBE is the Commissioner for the Compact. In his role, Sir Bert will push for greater public sector compliance with the Compact, the agreement defining Government’s responsibilities in dealing with charities and voluntary groups. His previous roles include Chair of Disability Rights Commission and was also chief executive of disability charity Radar.

 

 

New Year...New Compact
Jan 29 2010 It is some time since I have written a Blog and during it much has happened. Perhaps the most significant is the launch of the Refreshed Compact and some of the reaction to it.

Work starts on refreshing the Compact
Apr 23 2009 A Refresh Panel of experts on the Compact will be meeting in May and June to oversee the drafting of the refreshed Compact. There will then be a three-month consultation period over the summer after which the final version will be drafted. We hope to launch the refreshed Compact during Compact Week in November.

Refresh time for the Compact
Mar 27 2009 "It's refresh time for the Compact and last week I received a letter asking the Commission for the Compact to lead a process to redraft the Compact documents for public consultation later in 2009. The letter was sent by Kevin Brennan MP, Minister for the Third Sector, and Simon Blake, Chair of Compact Voice, the independent body which represents the voluntary and community sector on taking forward the Compact.
